Hadi does not let disability stop him

ALOR STAR: Muhammad Hadi Darus, 15, was born without arms. His feet are also
slightly bent, forcing him to "drag" himself as he moves around.
Despite this, Muhammad Hadi of SMK Sungai Tiang, Pendang, has learnt to overcome
the obstacles to enjoy a normal life and excel in his studies.
Yesterday, Muhammad Hadi, who uses his left foot to write, scored 9As in the
Penilaian Menengah Rendah (PMR) examination.
Muhammad Hadi, the second of five siblings, said having supportive parents,
teachers and friends helped him to pass with flying colours in the examination.
"I feel thankful to have such understanding and supportive parents, teachers and
friends to help me pull through."
He said his classmate, Mohd Fikri Ishak, would always help move his wheelchair
in school.
"I am also thankful to my teachers who conducted classes on the ground floor and
even prepared a special table for me during classes and the examinations."
Muhammad Hadi's mother, Halimah Che Pa, 49, said she was proud of her son's
achievement.
"He is very independent and diligent in his studies despite his disability.
"I am very proud of him and I hope that his achievement will inspire his younger
siblings."
In KUALA TERENGGANU, autism was no boundary for Muhammad Danial Zainuddin, of
Sekolah Kebangsaan Agama Sheikh Abdul Malek, to score 9As.
Danial, whose dream is to become a lecturer, said he was overjoyed by the
achievement as it showed that the sacrifices of his parents were not in vein.
"To those who share the same fate as me, I advise them not to be discouraged by
any disabilities as there is always a way to overcome the odds to succeed."
